Meet Dylan Zamora

Built from an interest in making, modeling, and understanding.

Dylan is the independent designer and technical specialist behind Formline Studio. His work spans residential drafting in North Carolina, commercial and residential BIM/VDC coordination, and architectural visualization across a wide range of project types.

His interest in buildings started long before it became a career. Growing up, Dylan was always drawn to building things, taking things apart, and figuring out how they worked. Early interests in woodworking and carpentry gradually developed into a broader curiosity about construction—how buildings were put together, what went into them, and how an idea became something real.

At the same time, an interest in computers introduced him to 3D modeling and digital design. That quickly became a natural connection between technology, creativity, and construction. What started as an interest in modeling spaces eventually grew into a deeper curiosity about architecture, building systems, visualization, and the technical side of design.

Dylan went on to earn a degree in Building Sciences and Construction Management, building a foundation in both residential and commercial construction. His professional experience has since included residential construction as well as Virtual Design and Construction (VDC) on large commercial projects, where he works with detailed architectural, structural, mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and other building systems to coordinate complex models and help resolve issues before they reach the field.

Alongside that work, he continued developing his skills in residential drafting, BIM, 3D modeling, and architectural visualization. Formline Studio grew from that overlap, bringing together the practical understanding of how buildings are constructed with the tools used to design, coordinate, and visualize them.

Today, Formline focuses on residential drafting and design, BIM/VDC services, and architectural visualization for both residential and commercial projects, with an emphasis on clear documentation, thoughtful modeling, and visuals that help communicate an idea before it is built.
